Subject:    2001 Stratus cold --- hot air
Date:    June 27, 2005 at 18:54:02
Posted by:    Aaron via: or 12.217.233.233

Year: 2001
Make: dodge
Model: stratus

Low Side: 40
Refrigerant: R-134a
Outside Temp: 70

The problem that I am having is a bit strange to me. When driving air- conditioning will work for approx. 5-8 mins. then it will cut out and start blowing hot air out. I checked the low pressure side, and after letting the car idle for 3 mins and had the air-conditioning on high. the reading i got back was 40, which from everything i have gathered is normal. A footnote, the air conditioning works during the testing period. Has anyone had this problem before? And if so what was the solution. I'm thinking about testing the air conditioning as soon as the air cuts off. Does anyone else think that this is a good idea? And if so, what symptoms should I be looking for??
